Web Reference: Sébastien Amiez (born 6 May 1972) is a French former alpine skier. He won the season title for slalom for the 1995–96 World Cup season as well as silver medals at the 2002 Winter Olympics and 1997 World Championships. FIS globally governs skiing and snowboarding and oversees over 7,000 events annually in Alpine, Cross-Country, Ski Jumping, Nordic Combined, Freestyle, Snowboard, and more. In March 2006 Amiez was badly injured in a fight, losing all sight in his right eye. He continued to compete, but retired after the 2006-07 season. He later became a popular commentator on French television for ski events, working with the Dream Team of commentators at RMC.
